“Sometimes the barrier isn’t that we’re busy, it’s that we forget to be active.”
Dr. Kent Bradley, Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) Chairman, wants you to get active and he wants you to start with your food preparation.
Dr. Bradley was in Manila for the annual Herbalife Nutrition Wellness Tour. He advised people to plan and consider the “what ifs” when coming up with nutritious food. “It’s called Implementation Intention. For example, when you know that you will come home with no time to prepare a meal, you better plan ahead of time,” he said.
“Pair the things that are happening in your life with the things that you need to do. There are things that we can substitute that are healthier for us,” he explained
He further said that there are practical ways that we can do to make sure this strategy fits in your day.“From a nutritional perspective, for example, convenience is really important. If you’re busy, then you need to have very convenient and healthy options,” he said.
“We have created a highly dense nutrient-based meal without the high calories. A frappuccino and a croissant, which are what some people will have for breakfast, have thousands of calories. Our shake, even if you add a banana to it, will get you only about 240 calories. It’s a significant reduction in calories while also giving you the micronutrients, vitamins, and minerals that you hope to have in a typical meal,” he revealed.
Dr. Bradley is also Herbalife Nutrition’s Vice President of Medical Affairs and Nutrition Education. He serves on numerous boards, including the Dignity Health System, the largest occupational health provider in the USA with over 400 clinics.
He is a retired Army Colonel, a graduate of the United States Military Academy and has a Master in Public Health from the University of Minnesota and an executive MBA from the University of Denver.
Dr. Bradley received his Medical Degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD. He is board-certified in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and has a certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD.
